Welcome to TCW Magazine – a GGA sponsor!

Once again, we are happy to welcome Today’s Christian Woman Magazine as a sponsor for Premier Christian Cruises’ Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise 2009.

Today’s Christian Woman magazine editor Jane Struck, who is also executive editor of MOMSENSE magazine, answered a few questions for us about their partnership with the Girl’s Get-A-Way Cruise.

Q. How did the sponsorship with Today's Christian Woman magazine come about?

A. Once we discovered the Girl's Get-A-Way Cruise -- and the natural connection we share with many of the cruise's speakers and entertainers -- it seemed like a natural adventure for us and for our readers. TCW doesn't associate with any event that doesn't resonant with our values and mission, but the GGA Cruise is a great match.

Q. Why do you think a girls-only cruise is a good idea?

A. As someone who loves Curves because it's a woman-only workout facility -- and as a woman in a couples small group who observes that I and my fellow female members open up more readily about our struggles and fears and joys among ourselves than when we gather as a mixed group -- I love the freedom a girls-only cruise can provide: freedom from worry about weight and appearance, freedom to laugh, freedom to share on a deeper level with other sisters in Christ.

Q. What do you think is the greatest need(s) of Christian women today?

A. I believe the greatest need of Christian women today is discovering a sense of purpose and meaning in our busy, often isolated lives. Women desire connection and community -- but often struggle with loneliness … We also want to know our lives make a difference -- that our influence is significant to and for God's kingdom.

Q. Does this cruise address any of those needs, in your opinion?

A. I believe a girls-only cruise that presents an opportunity for women to mingle and to be challenged provides that needed connection. I also believe that connection and encouragement help women who may be struggling with loving their neighbor as themselves, because they either feel guilty or unable to love themselves in Christ as God loves them.
